Hello everyone

Hola familia,
how is everyone doing this week? I hope that you are all doing great. This week wasn´t as busy as the last couple but it was a good week. We had a baptism on Saturday and it was really good. Her name is Susana Mendez. She is about 50 years old and it was a good baptismal service, it was kind of funny because her grandson baptized her and he just barely was ordained a priest and he is a little skinny guy and Susana is a bigger lady. He couldn´t get her to go all the way under the water. It wan´t his fault because she wouldn´t let herself fall she would go stiff and then he couldn´t get her to go under the water. So he tried like 4 times and finally they had her just like squat down and put her head between her legs. It was pretty funny i hadn´t ever seen a baptism like that but it works. The work is starting to pick up now it was a little rough the first couple of weeks. Paysandú is a great area and it has a lot of potential we are just trying to change it right now and it is looking really good. The missionaries are working hard and they are having some good success. Our goal for this month is 22 baptisms and we have the people to reach the goal we just have to give them all baptismal date an keep working hard. We have our sector conference this Friday. I am really excited because the President is doing them a little different, he is only doing 2 zones at a time and before we would do 3 to 4 zone all together. so it should be a little more personal and more interaction with all the missionaries. We have the sector conference once a change, also we have interviews and ZLC once a change. So after this week we don´t have any more big meeting until next change. Every Tuesday we have a district meeting with all the missionaries here in p-. So we get to see all the missionaries at least once a week. Next week we are going to go to Argentina and do divisions with the elders over there.
We have 4 elders in Argentina and president wants us to go help them out a little bit. So they gave us our passports and we are going to go visit them. The weather is already starting to warm up it is just sweater weather now. For like two weeks i had to wear my thermal g´s but i think that i won´t have to wear them again this winter. With the whole camera thing how much would it cost to send it down here fed ex because i could buy one here if it would be cheaper. My camera is a sony 8.1 megapixel i will get you the exact product number next week. I love you all i hope that you are going to have a great time at lake powell. Next year i will be there. Did dad pull out of the water the first time? If he didn´t he better practice because i am going to do it the first time. i love you all have a great week and a safe trip.

p.s. tell grandpa kirk i love him and that he has to make it at least 10 more months

Hello another crazy week in Uruguay‏

Hola a todos,

¿Cómo están? I hope that everyone is doing great. I am glad to hear that Jodi’s surgery went fine and that she doesn’t have a blood clot in her lungs that was a bit scary. This week was just about as crazy as the last one but it went by really fast. We had our interviews with President Peterson on Wednesday and they were great. As a ZL you get to have a longer interview with the Pres so it was great. They took a long time because we had to stay there the whole time we couldn’t leave early and go out to work. But afterwards we went out with the APs and got some ice cream so it was worth it. Then on Friday we went down to Montevideo and had out ZLC (Zone Leader Counsel) it was really cool. We talked about the numbers of the mission and what we need to do different to double the baptisms. We are really close to doubling the baptisms since I got here. When I got here we were baptizing 75 or so a month and now we are getting really close to 150. The Hermana Peterson cooked lunch and it was the best lunch that I have had since I have been on the mission. It was so good. So that made this week go by really fast. We have a baptism coming up this weekend a lady named Susana Mendez. She finally is going to get baptized she has been ready for a couple weeks but this week a bunch of her relatives are coming to town so she wanted to get baptized this week. Everything is going great here in P- we have a great zone and they are working hard we are going to have a successful change here in p-dú. Well on a lower note I have some bad news. I broke my camera on accident. Last week we went to the beach and were playing volleyball and soccer and Elder Oswald and I were taking some good pics down by the river and my camera fell into the water. Luckily I didn’t loose any pictures or anything but the bad news is I need to buy a new one. So I was thinking that I could just buy one here but I think they are a little more expensive. I found another Sony like the one that I have right now it is a little newer but it is like 400 dollars. I don’t know what we will want to do you could take all the money I have in my account and put it into my checking so I could buy that one. Or there is an Elder that is going home in 3 months and his parents are coming to pick him up so you could send it with them. I don’t know what you will want to do but if you think of any ideas write them to me next week. For now I am going to put all the pictures that Elder Oswald takes on my thumb drive so no hurry. I love you all have a great week. I hope that everything goes great with Golf and Camp. Work hard and have fun I love you all.
